Vice City Stories Info and Screenshots!
The first details and screenshots came today from the Australian version of the Gamepro magazine . You'll be playing as Victor Vance - Lance's brother. Below are the screenshots and details from the article:
Victor, and his brother Lance, will be playing a big part in Vice City Stories. He's seen in the opening scene of GTA: Vice City, as he get killed by a SWAT team.
• The game takes place in 1984 - two years before GTA: Vice City
• Victor is a 28 year-old US Marine
• Players can now take on the water of Vice City With jet ski's!
• The animations are more life-like and is a ''step-up from previous titles in the series''
• A multiplayer feature similar to the PSP version of LCS is in the game
• VCS is ''much, much bigger than Vice City''
• Some landmarks are half-built or yet to be refurbished to their state circa 1986
• There's new or altered locations and buildings
• All new vehicles and weapons
• You can fly helicopters!
• Radio stations from Vice City make a return
• New weather effects that could include hurricanes
• You can swim in the game!
• Bikes handle better than before
• There's also no more seamless exterior-to-interior gameplay as seen in LCS (There'll be a slight loading time)
• A new addition in Vice City is the chunder-wheel, which you can ride in first-person view!
• Binoculars is in the game
• LCS is ''rookie first-gen PSP title compared to VCS''
• Draw distance is great and is said to be better than Vice City on PS2
• Trip skips make a return (If you die or get busted a taxi will take you back to the location where you received the mission from)
• New animations which give both the lead characters and pedestrians a whole new degree of humanity
• Far richer color palette that brings sunsets to all new levels of beauty, and realism
• Increased density of pedestrians, cars and objects
• Reduction in clumping (where groups of the same model type appear together)
• Far more interiors that its predecessors
• So far there's no word on character and vehicle customization, aswell as wall climbing

Theres gonna be jet skis in vcs? Sweet, those things are fun in real life, it'll be like a bike on water in this. And you can swim (finally) and use helicopters. Btw those pics look amazing for scans and it looks as if Pam Anderson will be in the game too

Ahh... I think its weird playing as someone you know is going to die in about two years! Oh well, I hope this means more scans/screens to come. I hope to see the HUD (but with LCS, that took a while) and I hope to see the charecter and his clothes, although the first clothes seen for Toni where not in the game. Anyways, are those the only scans you got?
adepsp: Since it says we might have hurricanes, what if VC had some other land, and in the middle of the game, you have to "evacuate" from that island and it gets brought down by the hurricane! I doubt, a whole island would go down..... but just a thought!

aw man! from what we saw of him before he died in vice city, vance was just fatass and a bald guy. they better let us ustomize him with hair (unless he really started losing his hair in his twenties. in that case wigs) and let him work out so he can look skinny and buff. but besides that, "much, much, bigger" this might be a perfect 10 for the psp.

Well, GTA: VC got a perfect 10, I'm guessing this one will two. Just.... NEED SCREENS! (More screens : P)

I wouldnt mind playing as Victor if he didnt die at the beginning of VC. That is the worst part about it. Hopefully he wont be as annoying as CJ. Victor is living in the 80's so he shouldnt be that bad.

Man this game looks great. Jet skies swimming maybe even climbing.Too bad he dies 2 years later. They might do it like Scarface when he dies at the end. But no probably cause after your doneyou will able to do whatever you want. I hope there are a lot more missions.

Great news, I can't wait for VCS. JetSki's, swimming, and hurricanes are going to rock. Now I hope VCS features infracsture mode.

Really? No offence but you signed up on November 18th..... almost a month after Liberty City Stories had been released, so how did you see all those screens or "remember those days". Or, maybe you just visited the main page, thats what I did for awhile. Doesnt matter, I need to have a magazine with all this info, anyone know if the US GamePro will have this info aswell?

I never came on the forums. In fact I never came to this site. I used to go to gtapsp.com but never joined their forums. When I found this site I still dident join the forums until a long long time later. That is how I "remember those days".

Jar-Jar also posted the scan of the 9th page over at GTAForums this afternoon, but R* asked GTAForums to remove all the scans so it's no longer available. Oh well at least I got to see the 9th page. Here's a quote from Adamcs (mod at GTAForums):

Probably because they don't want gamers in anywhere other than Austrailia to get spoiled. You see, other magazines probably got the same screens and the same hands on, so when you've seen this, the others are crap.

No, that image has been considered fake some weeks ago. GTAIV is going to use the RAGE engine so I think it's going to look like kind of the Table Tennis( also uses RAGE engine) game made by R*.

if all the stuff the magazine said is true then this will be the best game the psp will see. i think VCS will be huge coz that Miami Vice movie is not long out also and everyone will be in the Miami mood so theyll all be out gettin VCS.
